6.0 LS Swap

Thank you everyone for the compliments and support throughout this build. I truly believe we have the best Jeepers out there on this forum!

As for this build it has been a blast! And the payoff in my opinion was well worth the hard work. This thing is a blast to drive. Everywhere I go I get 3 or 4 people stopping me to check it out. I smile myself every time I look at it.

I now have over 600 miles on it and so far so good. It's getting around 20mpg in the city, I haven't been on the Interstate for more than 10 miles so I don't know what I will get there yet. I will say I am very happy with the power. It's more than I will ever need. It's scary how fast it can get to triple digits. As for the Jeep itself, I'm still working on the permanent hood, I did make a temp hood to drive it in the rain (ugly as hell but it keeps her dry). I'm saving up for stiffeners, lift and axles now. And hope to have it on the rocks by this summer.

Thank you for doing such a clean swap.

How have the stock gauges been working? Did you use Novak's tachometer module? Are you powering the speedometer using the output from the GM PCM?

The gages are working fine other than the tach. I still haven't ordered the Novak emulator. But yes I am using the GM PCM speed output to the Jeep PCM input. At 60 its 1 mph off. With the tires I have now.

This weekend I was able to start working on the temporary hood. My plans have changed a little. I'm going to install a hot cam and set of ported L92 heads so now I have to run a 100mm ls3 Drive By Wire TB and LS3 intake to work with the new heads. So now I will be able to use a stock hood. So I'm not going to wast too much time with this hood. I just need something to keep the rain out of the bay.

Doing is a great way to learn! Looks pretty damn good. To radius those edges, You might consider cutting some 18 gauge exhaust tubing or something similar, into quartered strips for welding in there

Other than the beads showing, just an aesthetic thing, it looks good IMO.
Either sanding down, or filling and sanding would make it look better.

Right now it has 32s and a 4" with the stock 3.55s. My plans is to run 35s. My last Heep had everything up to 37s, and I was the happiest with 35s. As for the axles and lift, its still up in the air, but I'm thinking Ford 9s, 6" lift and 4.56s.

Sounds about right. 9" in the rear too with that low pinion?
