The gauge cluster and wiring are still in the heep so Poking around a little more isn't going to be a huge time waster. Maybe I'll get lucky and figure it out toot-sweet.

I went completely stand alone Gauges, and recommend for others to do the same. when doing a project like this you have to attach $$ to every hour spent. Whats, your time worth.

Sometimes there is satisfaction in doing something yourself no matter what the time cost is. Can you post pics of your gauges? I am doing mine hopefully tomorrow.

Well I tinkered with the gauges and wiring again today for a little while and came to the conclusion that although it could probably be done, I've simply run out of movitvation to make it work.

So I'll finish up a few odds and ends and then mothball the project until work picks up again.

Here's the progress so far...

Gauges in the template I made.

I need to trim the black Jeep bezel just a bit to fit around the gauges.

Haven't decided on the Jeep clear plastic yet, I might not use it.

They are straight in the pics with the plastic over the cluster.

I'd put the Oil where the water is, Water where the volts is, and volts where the oil is. That lays it out like the pre-96 cluster.

Mine is a '98... I will probably leave the Oil Press and Water Temp flip-flopped from stock because of visiblity through the steering wheel.

Any problems with cooling? In case I missed it what radiator are you running?

XJ Radiator and dual electric fans. I let it idle for about an hour and the #2 fan never came on, #1 runs for about 30 seconds every 5-7minutes.

Bit of bad news...my fuel pump died (used, no warranty). Work was been non-existant lately so once again the project has come to a screeching halt.

Sigh.....

XJ radiator, SHO Taurus fan. No cooling problems.

It's a Fuel Pump Assy from an 03 Tahoe. i've been looking at a Racetronics or Walbro replacement pump.

Scroll up a page or two and you'll see the install.

Im guessing the TJ tank fits like a glove? Stock straps line up? Using a skid under the tank?

It looks like your ring can be replicated very easily, and while I hate being a copy cat I do like seeing someone else do the homework for me.
