4th of July fireworks in the San Juans

What towns in the San Juan Mountains have fireworks? Anybody know a good mountaintop campsite to watch the show from?

no clue with all the HIGH fire danger hard to say who is going to have a big display or not.

The past 2 years I have been in Silverton for the fireworks, let me just say on how COOL it is up there to see fireworks. Usually we ended the night at going to some of the bars, bring a bike as the LEOs are in force for drunks driving but dont bother the drunk bikers. A cool band is playing up there called Aftergrass at the Miner's Tavern. It's a cool bar from what I remember of it.. I'm planning on going up there if I can get the next day off. Traffic is a bit** afterwards, it's cool to see all the cars lined up on 550 going South though.. There's still snow up there so camping up high might be limited and I don't expect there to be a big fire danger there.

i went to school in Farmington. About 40 min drive to durango. That town had some killer fireworks last year Just my two cents
