44 from a waggy

I thought it was 6 on 5.5 pattern for the waggies.

there are two different width waggy's i believe narrow track and wide track.. however the width isnt your biggest issue.. the bolt pattern is.. its 5 on 5.5 is he going to want to carry two spares?

No. The Fullsize Waggy only had narrow track axles. The wide track came on the fullsize Cherokee. The bolt pattern is 6"x5.5". The Waggy 44 is actually about an inch narrower (forgot the exact difference) then the stock XJ rear. Not really a big deal.

WOW!! Lot's to comment on here:

1) $350 for a D44 is ridiculous!!!! Shop around (or Buy my whole 86 GWag for $500...in Chicago).

2) Why are there Jeep sin the midwest??? Caus esomeone has do kick theo ford/chevy guys asses around here dammit!

3) NT/WT on Full Size Jeeps.
a) all Wagoneers are NT
b) full size cheros were both NT and WT
c) J trucks are all WT
d) WT is "roughly" 4 inches wider.....spring mounts should be
the same

4) Bolt patterns are different. Before 74 it was 5.5 on 5. After 74 it was 6 on 5.5.

5) Wanna buy my waggy??

Umm...not so restorable unless you want to do some work!!

frame is rusty by the gas tank. gas tank skid is rusted off....had Ibeam from previous owner holding tank on. Body is rusty. Has 200K but ran/moved strong when parked. Since then has rusted rear break line. AMC 360 runs good....gets 15MPG on the highway. 727 shifts hard. rebuilt 229 xfer case. Dual 44s. Interior complete...small tear in rear seat. Rear window does not roll down. Siliconed by previous owner.

Battery is now crappy...can be started and idles smooth with just a jump. Reworked entire front axle (bearings, seals, ball joints, ujoints) cause of a funky vibe. Turned out to not be the problem so vibe still exists. New RS5000s.

Sitting for 8 months now. Bets parts mobile ever if you need the parts. I don't.

As for the politics, as long as you are going to pack your bleading heart you will be OK. And you know spanish right? And watch out for the truck drivers, ever since NAFTA the truck drivers around here got a whole lot worse.

I'm no body man. I'm looking for something with mechanical problems and minor wear and tear on the body. Thanks for the reply.
