4/24 - Let's put a run together!

But there's nothing even moderate in terms of obstacles? I'm hoping to take my dad out on his first wheelin' trip, so I was kinda hoping for a few challenging spots at least.

No obstacles. Graded county roads that can be completed in 2WD. Maybe, one wet crossing.

This seems kinda cool. As long as all the trails aren't as crazy as those pictures I think that could be fun

There is plenty of variety at Mix Canyon. It is kinda small though. Perfect for testing out new mods. Nice half day trip. If anyone is interested, I can get hold of Bob and see if he will be open on the 25th? Maybe go for pizza and beers after?

i think we should plan this spot for a trip for sure, small but fun and kinda in the middle for the bay and Sac guys.

I've called and left a message. I will run out in the morning and see if Bob is open and plans on being open next Sunday. I will post up after.

Hey guys, Bob got back to me and said if the the week before the 25th (Sunday only) is clear he will be open for wheel'n. I guess we will have to play it by ear. In the mean time should I start a new thread or do we want to keep this one going. Who's up for it?

Well I managed to win a pass into the backcountry of Henry Coe State park for Saturday, so that is where Boatwrench and I will be. Not any hardcore wheeling but a rare treat into an area that is difficult to access the rest of the year. Anyone else win a pass?

Lakes Basin Rec. Area is high in elevation. Snake Lake is ~6500' to 7500'. The FS site says the Gold Lake 4x4 Camp is open. I would love to get back there again though and still need to finish my write up of Deer Lake Trail.

I'd love to go camping at Gold Lake again. Haven't been there in 2-3 years now! I would imagine it's pretty cold up there at this time of year.

Anyways, I cannot make it. I'll be up in the Arnold area, I may hit up Corral Hollow / Slick Rock area just to check out how much snow is up there but not going to be doing any 4x4ing.

Billy, Do you have anywhere specific you wanna go? I would love to wheel a little on Saturday, camp then drive out Sunday. Let me know.

Nowhere specific, but the smaller the group, the shorter the distance I wanna travel! I started getting pessimistic about the run too and started installing my new winch. I could still put it all back together by the end of the day Friday if you guys wanna go do something.
