stop being dumb. I was just saying that's what the germans (who have some of the the safest roadways in the world) do.

it is a FACT that doing less things when you're driving means less distractions. Why do you think Big brother is telling you you can't text and drive anymore? or that you need to operate your phone hands free?

You and I may both not like them telling us to do that, but fact is that they are, and they have ample justification to be telling us what they're telling us in this case.

you're referring to the autobahn? the freeway system where people are allowed to regulate their own speed resulting in an extremely low accident rate? wow that is a great example.

So based on your next post, are you trying to push some sort of socialistic society where people don't even drive their cars anymore? Since people have the right to not be told to pay attention to driving, are you advocating that more electronic gimmickry be added to the modern car, on top of lane departure warning, blind spot warning, adaptive cruise, brake assist, traction control, stability control, automatic headlights, vehicles that brake to a stop with no driver input, automated parallel parking....whew, I feel light headed. That's a lot of stuff to get out in one sentence.

Do you complain about speedlimits and seatbelts, and wreckless driving laws? How about being told what side of the road to drive on?

80 on a straight road, you get a flat. Especially with bigger tires, some people might freak out and roll. Deer runs across, you try to swerve and avoid it. Some jackwipe shaving while reading his morning paper and typing a text (how many hands does he have?!) veers into your lane. That's what I mean by not trusting everyone else. Stuff happens and I like to have a safety net. My Jeep feels fine at 75, but having a basic understanding of physics I know it will cease to feel fine in a heartbeat if something goes wrong.

So basically you want engineers to solve all your problems just so you can play with your cell phone, tune the radio, drink, eat, talk to your passenger, and not pay attention to the road?


....I must be missing something here:laugh2: because IIRC lazy people are typically sloth-like both in appearance and nature, and are typically defined as being dumb.

If you'd step back a moment, read what you wrote, note that kids nowadays who are involved in accidents either got in the accident resulting in their lack of willingness to pay attention to the road, [which is what their license says they're perfectly capable of doing (yeah, right...)] or they were hit by someone doing just that....well, basically everything that you think you should be able to do while your driving, you really should do in moderation (i.e. little to none).


I enjoy my rights...that said, darwanism and common sense usually prevail, and I don't think I ever want to be on the road near you.
