37s

But a dana 30 with alloys is cool for 42's right?

You gotta cryo them first, find somebody with a bit side by side freezer and you should be good, I think one night will do it.

well since i was talking about tires i would guess 44 inch tires that better
and since most fords came with dana 44s and chevys came with weaker versions of the same thing you could have the baddest axles on the planet and still break if you like riding the skinny pedal
You were also talking about axles. Besides your basic inability to form a coherent sentence makes it difficult to understand what you're talking about.

That doesn't work. My buddy works at a sperm bank so he took my R&P into the office form me and left it in the nitrogen tank for a few days.

I think this question is dumb. Every bit of it depends on the rig the trail and the driver. You know how your rig acts feels and moves on 35's. If you think it can take it - try it. If ya break too much, build or step back down.
What the tires/wheels are makes a big differnce too. My 35" kevlars with the weld on beadlocks weighed more than my 37's and Allieds. So think about it as a whole picture and figure it out.

It is not the question that is dumb, it is the replies from the peanut gallery that are dumb! I agree with the rest of the statement though because there are many more factors involved than tire/axle size! To just say 37s shoud not be run on a 30 is just plain ignorant! Yes, the chances of breakage are higher but as was stated it all depends on the axle build, wheel/tire build, trail conditions, driver skill ect..... :lecture:

isn't that where you get your gear lube as well? :moon:

O really, what about this statement:

Sorry bud have to give you a little bit of a hard time

Everybody knows Cal's an idiot, would you really want to be like Cal?

And that was the second time Cracker got sperm on his ring gear.

Well yes and no. I have learned there are things that are GENERAL RULES OF GUIDANCE per the areas people live. the trails and wheeling styles are pretty similar in certain parts of the country so general guidance rules are a good thing. However this whole wheeling thing is WAY to individual to say 37's will instanly blow up a 30. The cali and AZ guys all saw Led, our local guy run 37's on his 30 for a while. are ya gonna pop a shaft every now and then? sure. but success and failure is i nthe eyes of the beholder. Give things a try. see how it goes. Take the words of experience with a grain of salt and swallow some trial and error of your own. If we all listened to the people who had done things before us about what could and couldnt be done, we wouldnt even have cars to drive.

i break stuff on 35's and the NAC Chapter peer pressured me to put 38's on my jeep.

jokes on them because they are the ones who have to wait for me as i fix mah shit!

My neighbor has a trussed d30 with 4.88s, chromo shafts, d44 hubs, a trutrac, on 39.5x15.5 tsl's and hasn't broken anything but the d35 in his dads 5 speed tj taking off from a redlight on 35's. Thoughts?

If your gonna go to 37s for some reason u should obviously build a set of axles so why bother to build a 30 idk.

Also this thread should be stickied for the humor.

it fully depends on the rig and driver.. Everyone said a fully Built HP30 would hold up to 35s.. but the D44A will grenade.. I beat the ever loving CHIT out of my rig in 2wd.. From towing 7500lbs, to 3rd gear redline burnouts..

Its an Abrams tank until it's in 4HI.. (I've yet to even try 4low) and then, parts tend to fly.. Used to be shafts.. (tacked and Full circle clips included) Now that i have alloys, the inside of the diff is the weak link.. even with a full case locker, i expect the ring gear to be next, in the very near future!

I Plan to do 37s next spring.. after the 30 is long gone!

Goatman said my rig can fit 37s but I think I'd have to go to BFG All Terrains. That would keep me from getting enough traction to hurt anything. Think of it as a fuse.
