I've been using this 2x72 belt grinder a lot lately and thought I'd post some pics of it. I originally made it for knife making, but it sure is handy for other metal fab as well. Made it mostly from scrap metal I had from other projects. The DC motor was salvaged from a free treadmill off of Craigslist. The motor speed controller and belt wheels were purchased (<$60 total). This belt grinder combined with a mounted porta-band saw makes metal fab pretty much a breeze.
