It is only true for a 96 and newer 242s. 96 and earlier are just hack and taps. Not many people run 242s, but I really like mine. A lot of people assume a 242 is a 242, but they changed in 96. I am not trying to split hairs here, I just don't like blanket statements. Be specific. Also, they do respline the newer shafts closer to the bearing, however, I just found out they just started doing this recently. If this was an option when I made my SYE I probably would have done it. It is a very good set up. If I had a older pre-96 242, I still would not be real thrilled about the TWs hack-n-tap, but that is just my opinion.
