Thick cut gears will work on my current ARB locker? And thanks 87manche but the issue for me is I need to run the 242 lol. Can't give that up.

Just get thick cut gears and swap in a 242. That's everything you need. I still think your biggest improvement will gears. You will be astonished at the difference. Mpgs may drop a little but I would attribute that to how much more fun the jeep is to drive. It will be hard to keep your foot out of it. Especially with a stick.
the 203 is also a full time box with part time locks.
functionally it works just like a 242, it's just heavier.

I may be mistaken... But if your ARB is new enough, I think you can get the part of the case meant for 3.73 and up gears instead of buying a whole new unit.

4x4 now 4 to 1. Makes a 4 to 1 kit for 242 , 231 and 249 transfer case.
I have a five speed in front of a hd 242 transfer case on my jeep. Can order this case from mopar a hd 242 case that bolts in with the right clocking for xj.
