225/75/15 on 8" Wide Wheel

My buddy is willing to give me his Ravines for free. Right now I have 225/75/15's...is the 8" wide Ravine too wide? What negative effects might there be?

I plan on getting 235/75/15s sometime next year.

wont be too wide. Might look a lil goofy being such a small tire, but there is a minimal difference between 225 and 235

Specifcations for that size tire indicate the maximim rim width is 7.5 inches. I wouldn't suggest trying them on an 8" rim. The 225's already look maxed out on a 7" (that's what I have on my XJ at the moment...)

tire may be streched a little. But for some free ravines... I'd do it. Just keep an eye on your air pressure so you don't loose a bead.
