2025 Reno Fest - Memorial Weekend - High Rock Canyon (preparation thread)

As you specifically pointed out in your first post...if I only would have re-read it!:ROFLMAO:

Everyone:
We are one month away from this trip.
If you haven't already, please get your XJ out and drive it. Make sure it is trail and road worthy. Reliability is key for this trip. Some things happen but you don't want to have a major system failure, like the cooling system, charging system, or drivetrain failure simply because its been sitting and you haven't been using it. Best yet, take it on some trail rides between now and then.

That being said, please check in here and confirm whether you plan to go or not. I will update post #2 with a list of who is going.
Please tell us:
- Confirmed you will go.
- Planning on going but not 100% yet.
- Possibly will go.

This trip looks like a great event !! Starboard M and Starboard D will be in attendance with one or two Jeeps... All depending on whether On the Rocks gets his new front axle installed in time for the trip ;)

Eric, how much extra fuel, water and firewood do you recommend for each rig/person ? My '89 XJ runs a little "thirsty"....

Thanks for planning and leading the trip. Can't wait !!

Cheers

I plan on coming and riding shotgun. Can't wait for this trip

Fuel - start with full tank. We can top off in Gerlach, where there is one gas station. Bringing extra fuel is wise. Pretty certain everyone will need to re-fuel. We'll hit Gerlach on Day 2, and pass by it on the way home, Day 4.
Water - same as you would carry for a long weekend on the Rubicon, depending on how many people you have.
Firewood - TBD when we know how many rigs we'll have. Minimum will be one bundle per rig, possibly 2.

Wait.... what ?!?!

You have 4 XJ's and one MJ and you're riding shotgun ???

Looking forward to seeing you on the trip !!
Yeh, having the rig isn't the issue, it's the overall fuel cost. Budget has been extremely tight and I'm trying to be responsible but still enjoy a long weekend with the guys.
