2001 Rear Wiper Short

Can't track this down to an obvious short. Anyone have any esoteric folklore on rear wiper electricals to share?

What is yours doing? Mine will occasionally get strait up and down the freeze. Then randomly take off and start working. I am lazy so I have been just not using mine..

If it's like mine (intermittent) the short was in the boot between the hatch and body. I ended up using soldered, heat shrink butt splices to fix and it works fine ever since.
PS, check all the wires...the CHMSL and rear defroster may be next.
