I recently had my fuel pump replaced on my jeep. Took it to Mineke because they said my fuel pump had a slow leak in it, that was causing it to stop while driving. I had the fuel pump replaced and now it is still doing the same thing. I have no idea when it will stop running while I'm driving it. Sometimes I have to wait a few hours before it starts back up again. Its 2000 Jeep cherokee laredo, 6 cyl, automatic. Does anyone have any ideas what can be causing the issue.
Thanks everyone

Well first question I have is is this a Cherokee or a GRAND Cherokee? The reason I ask is you call it a Laredo but in 2000 there was no Laredo model of the Jeep Cherokee but there was a Laredo model of Jeep GRAND Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee and Cherokee are two different cars and there would be differences in the two vehicles fuel systems that would matter here when answering your question.

It is a grand cherokee laredo..We just has the fuel pump replaced. It will go out when I'm at stop light or idling..Im at loss here..:sad1:

check the wires that go to the fuel pump. under the rear seat is where i found the bad spot on my inlaws grand. common problem with the wiring on the grands. the in laws have had nothing but electrical problems since they got it. thats the best place to start. meineke isnt good for much more than an inspection sticker up here. must be different in your area

You might want to create a login over on nagca. If it's a common issue as 90 waggy suggests, they'll be more apt to know exactly what it is and how to fix it.

Ok will do that. Mineke said it was the fuel pump said it had a slow leak..They had a charge of $700 to fix it, I actually found someone else replace the fuel pump for only $150 but I had to buy my own fuel pump. The fuel pump was replaced, with the whole fuel pump kit. Do you think it might be the crankshaft position sensor?
