Engine is done, new radiator is in, pinion guard is on, shaved dif cover, drivers side coilover is mounted, still need to finish the truss bridge and mount the new passenger side coilover but should be test driving the wj tomorrow.
Wj runs and drives again, bad vibe in the front end. Feels like axle mat be bent. Cv joint clicks when you turn sharp too, so it's toast. Glad my brackets for the Dana 60 will be here Monday, I'm done with dana 30's all together.
No more dana turdy for me to worry about ever!
60 in.
Track bar done, lowers done, still need to build an upper and mounts, hook up brakes, install 1310-1350 adapter u joint in the front ds. But she is sitting on all fours dana 60 pushed 2-3" forward from stock.
When I finish the front end swap, I'll pull the np249 full time case. Swapping the input into an np231 giving the wj 2wd and a place to pick up speed sensor as the ford abs sensors are incompatible and would need a Dakota digital box to make them work. Still need to buy a dual pattern wheel for the spare tire as the ford lug pattern is metric and the 14 bolt isn't. May go up to 40's next year, as the strength is there and the wj rockers seem to drag on everything.
Stance looking good.
Tons of droop the way it's set up.
Being that the wife and kid cruise down the freeway in this jeep, figured some overkill on the upper mount for the 3 link was in order.
Not done, but front suspension is. 1.5"x.25 wall Dom upper with 7/8x3/4" heims. Iron rock long arm lowers with the upper removed.
Too much time working, no time or energy for wrenching. The wj will get finished one of these days, but the xj will get parted out next spring as I will be buying an ecodiesel wrangle unlimited Rubicon. All work and no play is getting old so it's time to step my reliability way up and wheel in style. With the ecodiesel towing capacity should be high enough to get the wj to and from trails as well.
