1987 junkyard xj build, now, with pics!

i'll be there again in august no damage last time but had to pull out acouple of full size trucks hopefully have my new axles in for the next one

The scariest part of this rig is the fuel tank in the rear, ratchet-strapped to the floor...:explosion... other than that, whatever floats yer boat!!! Prolly works on the trail better than mine!!!

sweet motorcycle

just did the rear brakes, didn't take pics, nothing too exciting, glad i know how to do it now, but who the heck designed that wierd system, disc brakes make soo much more sense. i did the cylinders, pads, all the hardware, and all the adjusters. pretty much everything you can buy for it. i'll be doing the grand cherokee booster/master swap this week, my brake problem has really come to the forefront the past few days here. they wanted 270 for the rear, and 400 for the master/booster (stock replacement) i spent 100 on the rear + my time, and the booster/master are 40 bucks +my time. so.. gonna diy it, again.

bag of left is new 36 inch brake lines for the front (rear is already 36 inches)

master cylinder and booster on right from a ZJ, dual diaphram, bendix, doing the swap tomorrow.

BELOW\/\/\/
this is the zj box, with hydraulic dot lines that will go to the stock proportioning valve, also in the bag on the left, so i dont have to bend anything.

$101.50 for all 4 brake lines, (2 for master to proportioning, 2 for front brakes) 40 bucks for booster and master from you pull and pay. proportioning valves were free.

good times tomorrow.

anyone use synthetic brake fluid? worth the money?

Did you delete your charcoal canister?
yeah, sure did, i capped all the vents with expanson vents, like you would find on a suzuki 4 wheeler. so i dont have evaporation, what ever evaps will go right back in the pumpkin when it cools. it looks like a little accordian.

That, my friend, is the fugliest XJ I have ever seen. Do you get pulled over frequently by the police, and what do they say to you while shaking their heads?:D

well, when i was on my way to my dads house to weld the bumper on the rear, i got pulled over for, well not having a bumper, she said "well, at least you had your seatbelt on" then she asked alot about the jeep, and why i had it and all that. ended up leaving with a windshield ticket, and that was it.

she liked my lights on the back, and she thought the whole rig was funny, and told me to drive slow so i dont ruin anyones life.

honestly, i dont want to drive this everyday, but my financial status after the last douche totalled my daily driver, has made me drive the xj everyday.

- other guy that wants pics of the diff, i will get them as soon as my roomate comes home with the camera, might be tomorrow, he's doing some fathers day stuff.

all the fuel and oil will evaporate into the atmosphere if i didn't do something else with those two things, but since i have the expanding sleeve things, mine wont evap anywhere.

it's for emissions, which we dont have in florida.

mscans I heard mudfest got canceled, they can't find a insurance company to pick up the coverage because of a kid that got hurt last time pretty bad.
