hey is it possible to get the age limit down to 16 or 17?

i know a few people (myself included) who want to join but are not 18. is there any way aroud it or is it possible to get the age limit reduced to the legal driving age?

Where there are contracts involved, minors can't be legally bound. I doubt you'll see the age limit changed. It's a liability thing, not because we're a bunch of jerks. Write your congressman about changing the legal adult age to 16.

You could have a parent apply to using your username, which would get you a red name. But that'd be pointless, because you still wouldn't be able to attend any events since you wouldn't actually be a member.

will be here when you turn 18. I'd just wait and apply when you're legally able to enter into a contract.

Or check in with the local event organizers about getting a waiver form filled out. IIRC we did something like that for one of our runs in SoCal couple years ago: Parent filled out the waiver form and the nonmember came to the event as a guest of another member.
