1" all-thread ok for adjustablizing LCAs?

I need to make my RE LCAs adjustable and was wondering if 1" all-thread was sufficient or if I need to go with the much more expensive 1.25 stuff that matches the ID if the CAs.

The 1" is $12.00 for 36" and the 1.25" is $40.00 for 36", not to mention the difference in cost of the hugeass nuts.

Also, will standard grade be fine or do I have to go with grade 7 or 8?

TIA

What mad MaXJ said. They have weld in bungs and lots of other stuff. Steering, braking, and things that hold your axle onto your jeep are worth getting the best materials you can.

So does it sound good to get the 1.25", which fits inside the CA without any slop, and weld around the opening and do some rosette welds? And should I weld a nut on the other opening and use a jamb nut or not? As I said there's no slop. And finally, course or fine thread?

Fine thread.
I wouldn't weld aroung the rod. It can weaken the rod at that point. What I did was to get a long nut, put it on the end of the rod. Grind the end of the assembly to match the contour of the tube holding the frame end bushing. I then had a guy TIG weld the nut and rod together at the end and then weld the nut to the bushing tube. A couple of rosette welds through the nut would probably be a good idea as well. This gets you a larger welded area and uses the thread to resist tension on the arm instead of just a weld.
Just my .02. Maybe some of the metal b---hes around here will have some even better ideas.

I'm a nut and bolt guy and thought I would chime in. Threaded rod comes in two basic varieties....low carbon and b-7. Think of low carbon as a grade two "not hardened" and b-7 is equivalent to a grade 5 in tensile strength. Going with a fine thread will obviously give you finer adjustability and higher allowable torque on the fastener itself. If you wheel hard then you need b-7. I sell 1-1/4-12tpi(fine thrd) for around $25 In coarse thread($12.50) b-7 comes in two thread pitches 7& 8 so be sure to get the right pitch nut if you use coarse. Let me know if you need more info

I used grade 8 bolt blanks. Cut off the heads and had them threaded (made into studs). My Sizes are 3/4" for top and 1" for bottom.
