I would love to move into a faster V8 class but the reality is that I have a 2 year old daughter that I want to devote more time to and racing takes up an un-real amount of time.

I've been building this truck with lots of camping and exploring with my wife and daughter in mind.
Plus, I really just want to win the 500 and the 1000 every year and I can always team up with someone else in their car.

Please find me a buyer. You cant buy the parts alone to be competitive for that much...

That thing doesn't belong on a truck that looks like a mantel piece!

It blows me away how much we spend on our Pro-Truck, can't even imagine a TT. You spend thousands on just nuts and bolts!

Ok, time for a stupid east coast guy (trees...lots of trees. No deserts) question. I really enjoy checking out these higher end Jeep Speed threads due to the fab and workmanship that goes into them. That being said I know nothing about desert racing except that watching You Tube videos of Trophy Trucks kinda gives me wood.

My question:

In your for sale ad, you say its 4x4, and it obviously has a front axle. But in the pictures the front and rear tires are obviously not the same diameter (at least it appears they are not in the pics). How does this work with the Tcase? Are the axles geared differently? Do you just not use 4x4 except for in a pinch? Does it not bind up because of the lack of traction/sand/dirt that you run in? Just trying to wrap my brain around it.

Really enjoyed this build thread, as well as your race Jeep.

Re: Fat City Pre-Runner build

His tires are all 33" just different widths. He runs 12.50's in the rear and 10.50's up front.

Re: Fat City Pre-Runner build

They're the same diameter, but we run a 12.5 in the rear and a 10.5 in the front. Bigger foot print for the rear and less weight for the front.
We only run the 4WD when we need it.
We ran the 1000 in 06 without a live axle in the front and I'll never do that again with 33" tires...

Re: Fat City Pre-Runner build

Hmm... that first pic REALLY looked like they were different diameter. Guess its just the angle.

Thanks for the answer, carry on!

Re: Fat City Pre-Runner build

Quick update:

Got it back together. Finally got the sleeve made for the yoke...

Tigged a plug in the end and drilled a 3/8 hole for the bolt. Drilled and tapped the Output shaft on the T-case
