It wasn't too bad. Tilted it back and wiggled it forward until it lined up with the hole. Then pivoted it up and in the hole.

Welcome back Brian!
Nice. Specs? IDK about flicr.
is there a write-up on this...need to think about this for mine
The rocker replacement? Yes but with the photobucket mess you may not see pictures.....
Christmas was good for me...the stereo/CD/Nav unit in the XK didn't have working XM radio or CD player, and the knob to control the Nav was sketchy. I've been looking for an OEM replacement since I'm not a fan of aftermarket and wanted to be sure that I kept the steering wheel controls and the DVD player. All the ones on e-bay are in the $435 range. I've been looking for 6 months in the junkyards - but they only used this stereo in the WK, XK, Magnum, and Chrysler 300. It's hard to find. Anyway, in all the years that I've been going to junkyards I've only ever seen 2 XKs. This week, 2 of them showed up on the same day! I went on the 24th and one of them was a limited, like mine, with the correct OEM unit. On top of that, someone took the time remove it and set it on the seat. I just walked up and grabbed it and payed a total of $29 for it. Saved myself about $400...and everything works.
Also, it sounds like I'll be back to work full time in my given field in March!
In the meantime, I'm headed to LA tomorrow to work the Tournament of Roses parade. Then hitting it hard as a chauffeur for another 2 months.
Hope Christmas was good for y'all. My New Year's resolution will be to take the XJ out at least once every month, starting after I get back to work full time.
