Weekend is over...what did you get done?

Bought some beef.

Well, I’m back in. I bought a 97 in decent shape. I’ll post a pic tomorrow.

I bought this...

97, 4.0, 4WD, High pinion D30, Chrysler 8.25.

The only issues so far are potential bad grounds to the battery and it needs a new TPS. Maybe some brakes too. The engine seems to be in great shape and it runs strong. I plan on giving it a full inspection this weekend.

Welcome back Brian!

Glad to be back! Looking forward to getting back on the trails. Hopefully the build will not take too long. I'm planning a lower COG than my last XJ.

Nice. Specs? IDK about flicr.

Week late.
But it’s a 93 with ABS so D30 front and D35 rear. Stock, rust free Heep with some 30x9.5’s on unknown newer jeep wheels.

Has pretty severe oil leak. I’m thinking it’s the oil pan gasket- I’m talkign enough oil coming from bottom end that I can’t even find the source. Picked up oil pan gasket and rear main today, then snowmageddon hit so I put it all on hold till weather clears up.

I’ve got the intent to lift it 2-3”, trim/finesse/hack away the body till I can stuff 33’s and call it done. (Are they ever done tho?)

Got my new bumper and winch mounted. Went with the Dirtbound Off-road stubby bumper and welded the wings on myself. Not pretty, but not bad for a first project with a junk welder

is there a write-up on this...need to think about this for mine

The rocker replacement? Yes but with the photobucket mess you may not see pictures.....

Christmas was good for me...the stereo/CD/Nav unit in the XK didn't have working XM radio or CD player, and the knob to control the Nav was sketchy. I've been looking for an OEM replacement since I'm not a fan of aftermarket and wanted to be sure that I kept the steering wheel controls and the DVD player. All the ones on e-bay are in the $435 range. I've been looking for 6 months in the junkyards - but they only used this stereo in the WK, XK, Magnum, and Chrysler 300. It's hard to find. Anyway, in all the years that I've been going to junkyards I've only ever seen 2 XKs. This week, 2 of them showed up on the same day! I went on the 24th and one of them was a limited, like mine, with the correct OEM unit. On top of that, someone took the time remove it and set it on the seat. I just walked up and grabbed it and payed a total of $29 for it. Saved myself about $400...and everything works.

Also, it sounds like I'll be back to work full time in my given field in March!

In the meantime, I'm headed to LA tomorrow to work the Tournament of Roses parade. Then hitting it hard as a chauffeur for another 2 months.

Hope Christmas was good for y'all. My New Year's resolution will be to take the XJ out at least once every month, starting after I get back to work full time.

Sounds like a nice score! GL on the job!

Congrats on the new job Dirk!

Christmas was a rough one around here. My GF's Grandpa passed away suddenly about an hour after having dinner with us on Christmas eve, with the graveside services this past Thursday. Aside from all of that, it's been a busy week off around here. Catching up on lots of projects around the house. Might actually drive the Jeep for the first time since this summer tonight!
