You know you own/drive a XJ when...

When you have to replace the rear axle, then the front axle, then the tires, then the engine, then the transmission. And you still think you got a good deal on the original price.

When the engine is being replaced, and you decide it really should also get motor mounts (not just stock), oil cooler, exhaust system, and shackle relocation brackets just because you're working in the general area.

when you have enough parts in your garage/driveway/storage shed to build an entire other stocker and you're not throwing them out just in case you find a stripped shell someone parted out that they'll give you for free :D

I did that... orig purchase price, new motor, 5spd swap, 4x4 conversion, locked front, new radiator, new fuel tank and sender, lifted, big tires, new rear and front axles, all new brakes and skids and a front diff cover and I STILL spent only 100 bucks more than I did buying my stock 96! I've put at least 3x as much into the fuel tank as I have into the truck itself.

When you can't go a day without saying the word Jeep.

Haha this happened to me the other day.....you are trying to get a set of FRONT breaks off a Chevy truck for your Ford REAR axle and the guy at O'reilly's just stops asking questions cause he obviously doesn't understand.

when borrowing a jack froom the counter guy at Advance Auto so you can change parts in the parking lot seems perfectly normal to you both...

When your 18 month old daughter knows only two words for vehicles:

1: Tractor, which applies to all tractors, cars, trucks, and suv's, and

2: Jeep. For daddy's XJ.

thats a good one.
I got one similair

When your delaying an upgrade/parts swap cause while your at it, it would be best to upgrade the other things involved with it but it's taking forever to get around to the other parts.
Ex. I got a tcase with a SYE, and better leafs for the rear.
I was waiting to buy 4.10s and a lsd for the rear so i could swap it all at once when easiest. I should put leaf springs shims in for the new driveshaft so i should do the tcase with SYE swap. Now I got my drivetrain parts but I've been workin on a tcase parking brake that I should finish first and last I should build a stronger crossmember while it's out but this is my DD.

ONly a month? Slacker!! =)

When you call the local parts house and say, "Hey this is [Insert your first name only here]" they not only know exactly who you are but ask which vehicle you're working on by make and model.

When you walk into your local parts house you feel like you're walking onto the set of Cheers because it's where everybody knows your name.

nope... they can never predict which jeep I'll be working on that day  not that I can complain, neither can I.

I think you miss understood me.... They never predict what vehicle I working on either but they after I say "Hi it's Matt" their usual response is something to this affect "Hey Matt. What are we working today, the XJ, the Forester, the Power Wagon, or the F-350?" Then I go on to tell them which vehicle and they have the year and the specifics of that vehicle memorized.
