I want to go camping up in Yosemite and was wondering if there is any good 4x4 just outside of town? Or i should say just before you enter the town? I was up there a few years ago and saw on a few dirt roads but it was quite boring and i didn't have time to look any more for trails. Is there anything up there.
As far as Mammoth goes. i go up there during the winter and have lots of fun on trails they have up there. But i would imagine that during the summer with all the snow gone there isn't much challenge. Does mammoth have any good 4x4 during the summer? Any info on trails in either area would be appreciated

What "town" around Yosemite are you talking about?
Not really any 4x4 trails that I know of up there, there are some neat spots to explore however.
Little Nellie falls just West of Foresta is a nice spot...

I took those from Old Coulterville RD. Definately a nice area to check out but you won't need 4WD.

Mammoth 4x4

I know that there is a 4x4 club in Mammoth. I'm sure the contact information is on Cal4Wheel's website. We wheeled with them a few years ago and ran a couple of nice trails. One was Wheeler Ridge and I don't remember the name of the other one.

Theres an area called the Miami motorcycle area just before you go into Yos on hwy 41. Never been there but who knows. There are lots of areas outside Mammoth east, just desert stuff or Death valley, which would be a blazin hot now. I dont know of to many formal 4x4 spots in Mammoth itself.
And Yosemite would be like 4x4ing in a sierra club members back yard, Aint gonna happen.
