YJ HEI distributor

OK, I know this is a Wrangler question, but has anybody "curved" one of these? My brother has got one on his YJ, and idrove it the other day and it was pinging bad. He doesn't have a computer and Idon't have a YJ so....here it is. Any ideas on what to do? I see the advance kits with new weights, is this what he needs? Adjustable vacuum advance? Sorry for the questions, but I couldn't find by searching. If I need to take it somewhere else, know where? It's a 258, Weber, and the rest is stock. Thanks.

why not retard the timing a few degrees?

Appreciate the move, didn't quite know where it should go. I tried bumping it back, but it turned into a dog. NO acceleration.

Replace it with a GM HEI out of chevy or gmc truck with the straight 6, that is one of the recommended webber conversion steps as well as the nutter bypass. That bypass takes the computer totally out of the picture and only supplies a pulse to the tach and the box under the windshield washer bottle.

That's what it has in it, the HEI. I read somewhere that the vacuum advance on the 250's is quicker to advance than the stock 258 advance.
