XJ - YJ drivetrain?

I might be swapping the drivetrain (4.0, AW4, 231) of my 88 XJ into a 93 YJ (2.5, manual tranny).
Seems like it shouldn't be that tough, any insight?

Aside from the need to swap the computer and most of the harness, and assuming you have all of the YJ brackets and motormounts, I don't see what would cause any problems.

The AW4 will clock the frt output of the t-case down an inch or two from stock. In a friends TJ, I simply shimmed the left side engine mount a little higher to roll the entire driveline.

you may need new driveshafts, and the rear shaft will be real short. the 4.0/AW4 is about an inch longer than the 4.0/AX15, but I don't know how that will compare to the 4 banger.

My friend had to rotate the T-case about 30 degrees when he put AW4 in his TJ. This way the Tcase is not the lower part of the drivetrain.
