why cut the front crossmember out??? when i was hacking up my old rig for scrap when we cut that piece the drivers side moved down almost a whole inch, it doesn't look like you've got anything in place there to keep the front end from twisting :dunno:

thats why grimm. our new hidden winch design. yours may have been in a accident or not on level ground or cut up. not sure but when i cut mine i had it braced and made sure it didnt pop out of place. even no its not in the picture. i had it in place in case. didnt move so i removed it so i could finish this design

Looking nice Remi.

I'll come by and check it out here soon.

I really like that winch setup if I ever redo the setup on my Rig thats a great way to beef up the frontend and hide your winch. We have lots of thives around these parts already had on bolt go missing they they relized I tacked the back bolts to my bumper:moon:

thanks guys, thats what the this whole post is about, not being afraid to try anything... hope you go cut up you jeep after you see this post.. lol maybe im mental but i love it. and yes that is def a good way to keep those damn thieves of your winch.. i like the tack on the bolt head good thinking !

Good idea for the winch. Do you feel that bolt on plate is as strong/
stronger than the stock crossmember?

Yes because now the winch acts as a crossmember. Not just the plate.. I designed it to where the winch is almost as wide as the plate so that load would be distributed throughout.the plate evenly.

Are your bolts going to be exposed after finishing touches?

Remi,

You going to keep grade 5s in there?
