XJ: Do you have a rear-air-deflector?

I purchased a NOS rear-air-deflector and wondered if anyone else has one with a photo to how it looks installed?

The one in the link is the Orvis edition rear spoiler, it was sporty options package.

Sure that is for an XJ?

According to the link the spoilers were only 97+ for export. Your profile says 1987, so you may have to "fab" your mounts as the rear hatch hinges changed when they went from fiberglass to metal rear hatches.

Let us know how it works.
One thing I find very annoying about XJs is how much dust and dirt builds up on the rear hatch when driving down dusty roads. It becomes almost impossible to open the hatch without getting a good dose of dust on your clothes.
I have wondered if a air deflector would help eliminate some of the build up by reducing the low pressure area at the rear of the XJ.
Anyone else try this?

Then it should mount right up to the hinges on the fiberglass tailgate, or maybe to the tailgate it self.

Do the holes line up with the hinges?

It's to keep the rear wheels from lifting off the ground...when the Jeep is going over 50, on a dirt road. It's an aerodynamic thing!! :confused1
