If he uses a "turbo blanket" that covers the turbine housing, it'd be fine. I'd be more worried about the brake system.

Looks good though. Its about time someone actually put a decent sized turbo on the jeep.
I should have my turbo build going here shortly as well. Looks good!![]()
urban yan said:very nice.... although I never considered the turbocharger's proximity to the ECU. I'm really curious how you'll resolve the problem (i.e. will a warp be enough)

WheelinJR said:Are you really mounting that intercooler in front of the grille and everything like that, or is that just mocking it up?
To me it wasn't about the appearance, although it is terribly ugly like that...Jposses said:NO IM NOT JOCKING.....
is imposible to put the intercooler in other place because is really big....now this is not a street car i mean im not want the best look...i want the best performance on sand...in fact the real origin for this project is climbing in straight line to the top of the medanoso dune in the atacama desert wich one is the most high in the world even more high than 45 dune on namibia desert¡¡¡¡¡
so the look is the less part matter¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
the temp. is over 40-45° celsius degrees without any wind and the engine need to resist extreme conditions......so as you can see this is not my DD and neither a City Car¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡
Now we are in the process to add a high performance additional fuel pump and regulator before we program the hks aic so when we have the results i post it¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¿¿¿
sorry for my basic english¡

WheelinJR said:...but, the point was the fact that its gonna get mangled up there. One small rock on the road is gonna pop a leak in it... But if its never street driven I guess it's no biggie, sand can't do much to it.
You should consider an air to water intercooler that you can keep underhood instead, or some sort of top mount with a scoop.
