WTB: roof rails

i need a pair of roof rails so i can mount a roof rack. open to whatever will work!

im going to ditch the ones off my 94, the rubber thread inserts they mount to are leaking and I'll never put anything up there.

if you can wait mine is free, not sure when i'll get around to it though. are you talking about the cross bars or the parts that actually mount to the roof? i have both.

If you are looking for the cross bars, I have some off of a '99 that you can have. You just need to figure out how to get them from LA to SD.

thanks guys, i have absolutely nothing on my roof now, not sure what the best way to do this is, rain gutter type racks like yakima, or the stockers? i have a 91 if it makes any difference.

If you are going to put any kind of load on the roof rack, I would go with rain gutter type racks. The factory mounts and cross bars are really not that strong.

thanks guys. wonder if i shoud weld some threaded blocks to the roof and make some decent cross bars?

the roof is thin sheet metal and it tears easily, I wouldn't trust anything welded to the roof.

I have a friend that welded a rack on. Bad idea. It ripped the welds right off the roof with the sheet metal. If your running a cage I'd go through the roof and do a halo rack like the Naxja KOTH build. Its just too flexy up there.

no cage yet.
wasnt gunna do a rack at all but i got one uber cheap so i figured why not, it's pretty light.
maybe ill try to find some yakima rails or something

I have some cross bars off my 90 you can take. They're the type that sit flat on the rails. Im throwing them out otherwise.
