I'm extremely busy at work and I'm inquiring to see if anyone in So Cal has the parts necessary to do the crown vic disc brake swap on a d44 rear.

I'd need the backing plate and calipers only. I can get the retainers from the dealer easily, and the rotors from vatozone. I just don't have the time to search through the local boneyards for the other parts.

Has anyone acquired the parts and just lost interest or is willing to part with?

If so, how much would you be willing to accept?

Thanks

i suggest you get explorer calipers for the reason that the bleeder valve is on the correct side. 2nd get zj rotors that way you dont have to enlarge the center hole to fit over the axle.

VERY interesting.

I have not read anything about using those components. Only about the traditional crown vic swap.

If you've done this swap, did you happen to take any pics?

What years explorer calipers and what years ZJ rotors?

Thanks

i believe 98 on both the explorer and zj, also on the drivers side i used a passenger side brake hose from explorer( i can take some pics tommorow after school)

Please do. It sounds promising.

Sounds like all I need to get from the Ford is the backing plates.

I really appreciate the help.

Yeah I'm near the traffic circle in Long Beach.

I'll be home all weekend working on the XJ or my Duramax. :)

I've got the 44 torn apart now for a gear/spool install, but I'd like to reassemble with the disc parts instead of the drum stuff.

I've got the crown vic setup on my d44 too. I'm down the street from you near the Lakewood mall. You're welcome to take a look.
