The "Screaming Seagull" took a crap on me a while ago. I know it isn't an XJ, but it uses XJ axles, so thats worth something.

What I'm looking for:

Dana 30: 1996-1999? High-Pinion, Non-Disco, Larger 297 u-joints, preferably 3.73 gears (but gears wouldn't be a deal-breaker if I could find a matching front-rear axle set)

Chrysler 8.25: 1997+ 29 Spline, again preferably 3.73 gears.

The Dana 30 is what I "need" (mines broke), while the 8.25 is a "want" (replacing a Dana 35), so hopefully I can find both axles from the same seller.

I'd also like to pay 100-200 each axle.

oh, and as per the thread: I'm in SoCal: Camarillo (ventura county) and willing to drive a good distance (2-3 hrs) for a good deal.

Thank You.

Well I haven't torn it apart yet to confirm anything, but there are a few reasons why i want to swap it out:

1. I may have stripped the C.A.D. because under torque I can hear what sounds like splines slipping from the passenger side. (someone pointed out to me this could be a result of a broken Lock-Right locker as well... in which case the CAD would be fine, but that doesn't explain why I heard it comming from the passenger side). I also think it could be a stripped hub, But again, I haven't torn it apart yet to confirm (Because I can't have a vehicle on jack-stands in front of my parents house)

2. I've been getting deathwobble and one of the only things I haven't done yet to cure it would be new ball-joints, and I'm not too keen on putting the $100-150 into new ball-joints for a Dana 30 w/ C.A.D. When I can pick up a newer axle w/o CAD for $200ish.

This also seemed like a good excuse to swap out the Dana 35 in the rear w/ some matching axles I find at a Junkyard... only problem is I haven't been able to find the axles.
