I'd imagine the thin unibody suspension mounts and the suspension parts themselves aren't gonna hold up well to those significantly increased stresses....... at speed. I see that front suspension failing easily under hard cornering.......:dunno:

Beat me to it Dutch. Its one of his cars at least... nothing compared to his rex.
Troy, Ken Block is probably the #1 rally driver in the world right now... type in "ke" on youtube and the first hit on the list is Ken Block.
And here's his Gymkhana video... this is probably my favorite video on youtube. The stuff he can do is flat out incredible. Yall know I'm not a fan of rice of any kind... this is my exception. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BkNzkutTiGs
BTW, that entire complex is his training course.
The Segway scene in that is by far the coolest video clip on yourtube.
What does the driver of the car have to do with the longevity of the components mentioned in Troy's post?
The car was at SEMA this year. While there was a lot done to make the tracks work, Troy is right, there are numerous components that simply won't last long with that setup.
Tracks have allways been an interest of mine. thought of being a tanker for a brief period. until i found out they cant be driven on the street. (was only 10). saw another one, f250 i think, looked really sharp
A name implies nothing to most people when the sport is little known outside of enthusiasts. Dutch's reply took that into account and he made the point such that even people with no knowledge of the sport can understand it. That's the difference here.

As already stated, I was merely stating that those tracks put a lot of leverage on the Impreza suspension..... which wasn't designed to have those kinds of leverages applied to them -- I don't care even if it was a specially prepared Rally car..... Are you aware that the lug nuts and studs are the only things attaching those Mattrax to the Impreza? No one in their right mind could argue that the Impreza's unit bearing, cast knuckle, ball joints, etc. could or should be expected to hold up to such a huge difference in leverage, traction, weight and what not. Look at the ground clearance those tracks provide...... Much more than the 18" tire/wheel combo that Impreza is normally gonna run........
The vid of that car running around clearly shows someone is driving it pretty conservatively..... certainly not with the grunt that Impreza is capable of.... nothing stated about the damn driver. I could fawk up that Impreza just as easily as Ken Block could. :twak:
