what is the best way to get power up to some roof rack lights and have switches for them?
ex: drill hole in roof?:puke:
run in door crack?
multiple switches for 5 lights?
one switch to turn them all on?
etc?
:yelclap:

I ran it through the door weather stripping on my jeep and 2 switches, 1 for the two outside lights, and 1 for the inside lights. All connected to relays and fuses. :)

You know I am about to do the samething to mine... again. Right now I have one wire going through the weather stripping around my drivers side rear door and another going trough the opening for my tail lights in the rear. I would not really do all your lights on one switch. I have the four roof rack lights on one switch and they arent as bright as the two I have in my front grill. And yes they are the SAME lights. I am about to redo the whole thing and I am going to drill a hole in the roof in the drivers rear near the hatch. I am going to use a gromit I found a NAPA autoparts. I will also do a small write up about it. I have found the PERFECT place to mount 5 switchs in my XJ also.... I will keep you posted.

i followed the "fitch" way, lol, its quit alot but its all worth it if you want a clean look. i'm going to be adding more after i buy some wire

i have 6 on my roof 4 in front 2 for backup with 2 switches i ran mine thru the rack and drilled a hole in the roof. you can run as many switches as you want but run a relay on each switch so you don't get power lose and you good wire.

well let me tell the story.
i know somebody thats got a kargo master rack that they never use, that was put on with intentions of wiring up the lights, but it never got done. they're baja. so the wires are just sticking out of the lights, and the rack is on with drip-rail mounts. so....4 bolts and some cash and it's mine.
but....i might just buy the lights off of him and put em on the front stock rack-rail, because im a little scared at how it will look with my 3" kit as compared to his 4.5".
i'll probably end up going with the "fitchbox", because that just looks awesome and would be a cool wiring project to do.

mine run through a hole in the roof, and I used a PCV tubing rubber elbow with some black silicone in it to seal it...
