Dude...

Maybe this'll make you feel better:

http://chicagofitness.net/index2.html

You remember talking to her at the BBQ right?

According to her...

She likes to offroad her CJ

:D

oh yea, I remember her. I believe she was one of a few I fell in love with there.

CJ eh? I might need to come to Chi to see if I can bring her over here to the XJ side, although I too have a CJ, humm, too much to think about on a Sat morn. :morningwood:

From what I've been reading Winterfest sounds like a good time, but I'll most likely still be driving a completely stock XJ then, so I was wondering if there would be much to do with just a set of A/T's and no real ground clearance. I'd like have an opportunity to check out some built up XJs, get a feel for what I could do to mine, learn a bit about wheeling, and maybe meet some of you punks.

so, are there any trails I could run stock, or would I just be sitting around on my ass the whole time drinking?

Well....yes. You may need a strap now and then and you will take a little scraping, but you should be OK. Understand however that the chance of damage exists even in the easiest trails, we can try to get you thru smooth, but there is always a risk of body damage.

try to get some rock rails first. with little clearance, it is a good investment.
also, you MUST have front and rear tow points. read some threads about those. everyone has an opinion on tow points. show up and there is always an open seat somewhere. people are friendly, and will let you ride with them on the trails. it is a good first step. btw, If your staying for the Campfire, bring plenty of tylenol.

so something like AJ's Rock Rails would be a good idea- I don't mind a little body damage, I just need to be able to drive home safely on the highway. I have a class IV hitch in the rear(six bolts on each side) - what do I need to fit into it to make a good tow point? haven't decided on the front yet- hopefully I"ll have the money for a simple bumper with a couple D rings- other than that it's just a fire extinguisher, strap, and a jack/spare right? what makes a good jack besides a high lift?- my little bottle jack is worthless on road let alone off.

thanks
