So I just recently got my heep running again and then I started to tackle the transmission problem. Now that it's fixed the motor won't start on it's own. If I drop some gas in the throttle body it will start and stay running. I have to let it warm up alittle before I can rev the motor with out it dying. WTF?

What year/engine? Always important information in the troubleshooting process.

1. Test fuel pressure; compare to factory spec. Could be regulator or pump.
3. If yours is 96 or older, (newer ones in the tank) how old is your fuel filter? Replace if it's been a while.

x2, check your fuel pressure. What year is it?

Well ladies and gentlemen we have the answer... SURVEY SAYS! Water in the socket of the temp sensor on the ther. housing. Cleaned it out, shot some WD40 in there to help clear things up and she started right up.

Even more important was HOW did you discover this?

Well signs were pointing towards the temp sensor.

I had bad temp sensor cause this problem. It wouldn't enrichen the mixture when cold. Just like the choke not working on old carbureted vehicles.

So I simply unplugged it and tried to start the jeep. I cranked it and it fired and the quickly died. (Before it would not fire at all) So i took a closer look at the connection and noticed there was a puddle of water inside the sensor. So I cleaned it out, sparyed WD40 in there, plugged it back in, and she fired right up. BTW water had more of a chance for getting into as I had the jeep sitting outside with no hood on it.
