Lets see your mounting... Does it cycle well? I'm thinking of some 2.5"x12" travel FOA's. They're 20.25" collapsed and 32.25 ext. I think i'll have to have 7" of lift to run them though which sucks.

I'm running Bilstein 7100 shortbody 14s. They use a 12" body but are only 2.0s. I could definitely use more down travel, thinking of moving the lower mount down from the current stock location.

We run 13" travel 2.65" 9100's on the Team Naxja car. Stock upper mounting, lower mounting is about 2-2.5" lower than stock. Have maybe 5" of uptravel.

Somehow i don't have pictures handy.

11" here. 5" up, 6" down. the top mount is about 3/4" lower than a JKS mount would hang. deaver coils.

Put it this way, this is a 10", t&j upper, and the common style off the lca tab lower.

To fit a 12", your upper mount has to go up 2", or your lower mount has to be 2" below that. Or a combination of the two.

Anythings possible, but what are you trying to accomplish?

Mas travel and flex. I go to the rubicon frequently but also love prerunning. i have the jks upper mounts and was going to mount lowers of CA brackets. Currently i'm on a 10" rubicon mono tube shock and a skyjacker 6" coil.

Just run 10" travel front shocks on around 5.5" lift. Tried and true in jeepspeed.

how the hell are you running a 14" travel shock on the stock locations? Or do you have a hoop going into the engine bay?
I do it by lying. :D Just looked up the order to make sure of what i was saying...turns out they're 12" shortbodies.

Running a 2.5 12" on my jeep.

i wanna :smootch: to your jeep this w/ the 5.9 is a dream jeep. I test drove a 5.9 last night in possible trade for my tacoma but the dude was unrealistic.

Anyways your beast keeps getting better and better. Where's your build thread? You on 35s? How much total lift you running? How does that beast do at speeds w/ the 3 link?

I have a 2.5" 12" shock up front. I have to have 7" springs and about .5" in tube OD of lift to fit them And my 35" tires with minimal trimming.

The 2.5's are longer comp and ext lengths, then 2.0's.

I have T&J upper mounts (google if not familiar), and lower mounts are welded on to the lower control arm mounts (all 1/4" thick mounts), with the bolt front/back of jeep not side to side, to allow full articulation of axle without worry. The shock bolt is exactly centered on the lower control arm bolt, just opposing direction. Basically you have to slide the LCA bolt thru the LCA mount, then put shock into position and then slide the lower shock bolt in.

I am pretty sure I am at 6" up travel allowed in shock (4 till daystar bumps start to hit and then 1.5" till no more up travel) and then 6" down travel in shock.

I am extreamly happy with this setup.

RTI ramps are for mall cruisers, BUT last weekend at a local event, they had a RTI ramp. I was with a buddy in a JK with a 4" Currie long travel setup. I still beat his score by a admireable amount. I just have Full Traction 5.5" rear leafs, 1" boom shackles and .75" T&T ubolt elim. for rear lift/setup, with a 10" rear 2.5" shock. Not bad I thought, expecially since I run a antirock and leafs and he is coil'd and disconnected.
