Doyle I had to drive through Newberg last night taking somebody home to Mac and somehow, 99 through town is the worst road I've driven on in this whole storm. How does your snow have constant potholes? I couldn't go more than 15 all the way through "downtown"
well, the county has seen fit to not plow the roads includinh hwy 99, hwy 219 and hwy 240, and they strongly encourage chains. that combined with the lack of gravel, the fact that the layer between that packed snow/ice on top and the pavement is slush leaves the roads about as torn up and bumpy as any gravel/dirt/mud road I have ever been on.
People spin their tires and dig ruts, there are washboards in the roads that just go on and on, and the chains have dug nice ruts, not just two ruts you can follow but ruts all over the place your tires want to follow but you would really prefer your jeep wouldn't follow.
It is basically a shitty bumpy ride for no reason. We went to hood the other day and the roads were nicer everywhere as soon as you got out of yamhill county.
