Same dilema.. which winch bumper. Has anyone had overheating issues contributed to high mounted winches covering the grille/radiator? Compromise between that and approach angle is driving me nuts. I like the AJ's phat low mount and the JCR DIY winch bumper for their lower mounting position. The JCR DIY actually mounts the winch lower than their pre-made bumper.

Search for ORS in the vendors section. He sells bumpers that replace the bulkhead behind the front bumper. You put your winch right in front of the crank pulley. Same approach angle as stock and nothing blocking the radiator. Cheap too. You can even get the wings to make it look like a normal bumper.

I put the Smittybilt winch bumper on mine with a 10K winch. Big sucker. I drove it 200 miles yesterday in 100 degree heat plus wheeled all day. The temps stayed normal the whole time. The winch solenoid box sits in front of the grill. I'd say it's a non-issue.

Thanks!

I'm liking AJ's Pre-Rock and OR-FAB from Summit Racing. Have email in to each of them with questions. Found a place in Phoenix with roof racks I like as well but now can't find the webpage. Hard-Cor I think it is. Thought I'd bookmarked it.

I found this bumper in mexico AJ's said they would they would make it for me and beef it up and make it 4X4 capable.

Did that happen? I'm dealing with AJ's right now and would be interested how that all went, including pricing. I get the feeling it didn't happen or we'd see the results here.

Thanks.

The ARB bumper has not overheating issues. The winch is inside the bumper...

If your cooling system is up to snuff, a winch shouldnt be an issue, running,an 8274 with no issues
zj fan, 3core, 10 blade efan, hood vents, open system

Max at dirtbound personally helped build my bumper.

as far as which bumper, pick the one you like, any reputable company wont dissapoint

New 2-core (factory) radiator, '99 so open system, new OEM water pump.

What's the deal on the ZJ fan? Is it a direct replacement? Bigger?

Also thinking about the hood vents. One of the first threads I found when first coming on the forum a month ago was about hood vents and I found a link to the ones I like but can't find either the correct thread or supplier now. Not a big issue unless I run into heat.

Strongly considering AJ's PHAT bumper or Slik-Rok. Warn XD9500i will be the winch (from craig's list).

Was going to install the new lift this weekend but one leaf bushing is missing from the kit.. dang..
