Where to live in the Bay close to cupertino

I might possibly be transferring to cupertino in the next 2-3 months, but its a big maybe. I want to live close to work, but not pay alot, i think that is impossible for that area, but anyone have any ideas of places that are within 40 minutes and not too expensive?

You can rent in Morgan Hill but the commute will suck with traffic. Sunnyvale is a pinch cheaper then Cupertino but everything here is bank. If you live in Mountain View or Sunnyvale you can commute side streets to Cupertino if the freeways suck at least.

I agree with you Tim, I have been looking around like crazy, its substantially more expensive out there.

You might also want to check Scott's Valley/Santa Cruz Mountains for something. Cupertino actually has reasonable rent for how popular a place it is to hang out. Finding a garage is tricky though.
