I just got some zippos that marlboro was handing out at some night club... neato, I don't even smoke, but free stuff is cool. I was wanting lighter fluid for these babies, but don't want to order it...any big retail stores that sell this stuff? sports authority, wal-mart, etc? thanks. _nicko_

Hardware stores should have it (ronsonol). BTW I'm pretty sure its just the same naptha thats Coleman fuel which is much cheaper (same price but for a gallon) and I haven't had any problems putting Coleman stove fuel in there but if youre in doubt just get the fluid for cigarette lighters. Zippos don't use butane BTW so don't get that...

I found that naptha (coleman fuel) works really, really well for not only stickers and other goo but also removing gaskets and its about the only thing I've found removes silicone based stuff like Permatex sealant.

I never even thought of that even though I've used gallons of the stuff in stoves/etc. I had to go check the jug of the stuff out in the garage, and sure enough it says "contains refined petroleum naptha". I've always called it white gas-

regardless, I think it may still be a little different, so I'll let a few more people try it before I do.

and gearwhine if you don't smoke, and aren't constantly lighting other peoples cigarettes for them, just keep the zippo as a souvenier. keep a few 50cent plastic bic-type lighters lying around if you need fire, and get a nice butane torch if you really need something for extreme camping in windy conditions.
