Where do you mount your tweeters?

I'm thinking about putting in component speakers into my 01 XJ in the near future. Probably going to stick with 5.25 speakers.

Wondering where to put the tweeters. I was thinking of putting them up in that little corner plastic piece on the door but I'm not sure if they'll even fit there. I don't have the little infinity pieces that go there.

On the soundbar on back I figured just cutting out a hole.

I don't really want to cut into my main door panels. The little plastic pieces I could care less about cutting them if I can get the tweeters to fit.

I know nothing about speaker systems either. But have my new headunit. Think I found an amp and speakers but don't know if components should go up front and in the back.

What are coaxial speakers?

Well I figured that one out. Makes sense to go with coaxial I suppose. Do you have any recommendations. What exactly fits in the cherokee.

Those little tweeter things are impossible to find in the local yards around here.

I have an Alpine headunit. Was thinking of going with alpine speakers but I don't really know who is good.

Go with 6.5/6.75's. 5.25's aren't that much cheaper than them anyways.

I mounted my tweeters a couple inches above the speakers in the door pane. not ideal and i think i will have to do something different now that I have manual windows. Alpine speakers are always a good call. My components are 6.5 Alpine type-r's.

I had some Diamond Audio 6.5's and tweeters back when she was still around. I mounted them level with the window crank, backwards from it about 3 inches. Sounded really nice. I also found some infinity grilles at the yard, but the tweeters were trash and I didn't like the look of them mounted in from of the plastic. I'll see if I still have them if someone wants them.

What color are they because I will take them.

I have the Perfect 6.1s along with some Infinity Kappa 62.5s in my rear sound bar hooked up to an Alpine MRP-F240 V-Power amp. I'm not very fond of the sound. The rear speakers are useless (as I've often said), and the Perfect 6.1s are a little too sharp for my liking (that's what you get when you buy speakers with an aluminum cone).

My last car didn't run rear speakers (we ditched them). It had custom made kick panels housing some Rockford Fosgate FANATIC X 6.5" Components... now those were great speakers. They had a nice, organic sound to them.

I was running my Focal TNB's in the factory location with an Eclipse 6" driver in a custom door pod. Because of the mirror mounting there is not any depth behind the door trim piece so you will need to mold the tweeter mount into the trim piece.

SQ was not too bad, not as good as if I would have built a tweeter mount in my door pods but with the road noise I had with the jeep I wanted them to be a little more direct.

Now that I no longer have doors I need to build some kick panels and put in a set of 5.25's not sure which brand I am going to get yet but have liked the JL's a lot, or may try and find an old pair of Eclipse point source speakers.

If your interested I still have the tweeters and pods, I need to finish blending tweeters into the trim piece but I am not going to use them any longer and was looking at selling them anyway...

What do those pieces look like?

They're grey covers. Good thing I checked back on this thread cause I totally forgot to look lol.

Send them my way man. I think I sent you a PM too.

I put mine on the bottom of the a pillar trim. A couple inches above the dash. It seems to help hear the music over the wind noise with the windows down.
