I need to buy 3 3/8 inch crush sleeves to install my rock rails. Does anyone know where I can buy in person or online. I live in Mira Mesa area.
Thanks Jeremiah

you sure you need them? i know they use them on long arm kits, but this is the first ive heard of them being used for sliders.

the jcr's (an accepted industry standard), use 5/16" self tapping bolts.
are you planning on showing those rails no mercy?
what about peices of like 7/8" tubing, with an ID sized to the OD of the bolt?

I was thinking of using steel but the instructions say to use 3 and 3/8 crush sleeve in the frame rail. They were made by rocklizard. I got them from a friend before he sold his cherokee.

The only purpose of the sleeve is to prevent the frame rail from collapsing when you torque the bolts down, steel tube will be fine just make sure its strong enough material.

Better yet, you can hit up some of the better welders around here and just weld them on.

Are you looking for "nut-certs/well nuts?" You drill a hole, push the insert in and tighten it down till it pinches the framewell? then you can take the bolt and screw it in?

I might have a few of those if thats what you are looking for.

or....

Are you running a bolt through the frame to the slider? That way is kinda overkill but it will work and its a little more time consuming.

I think this is what he's referring to. I've also seen a set of rails mounted this way tear the frame rail when the owner didn't keep up on making sure the bolts were tight :nono:. I would weld them since the XJ has such a weak frame, but then again I'm not a crawler so I wouldn't have them on there in the first place :D

I would just weld them too, the set on my red jeep were welded, kinda took the bolts out of play. The frame sleeves work (my LA kit has them) but I think for a set of sliders they are overkill. Some self tapping bolts like JCR, or a weld will work perfectly.

I want to bolt them because I might need to take them off and repaint them after they have been scratched. I think I am goin to get steel and weld them in. Then put a bolt thru them with a lock washer.
