So, the wife and I have reservations for a room in South Lake Tahoe for 7/13 & 7/14... I convinced her to take a sweet shortcut that somebody told me about one time.

My first thought was to get an early start on Monday morning (7/13) and plan on running The 'Con all the way though. Ride the bikes around Tahoe a bit on Tuesday, hit the casinos and have a couple "free" drinks that night. Then take 50 home on Wednesday.

But maybe it would be better to do it the other way around...
Take 50 up on Monday, do the casino thing Monday and/or Tuesday, and then take the Rubicon home on Wednesday.

The trail head is a lot closer on the Tahoe side and we'd have no hotel to worry about checking into after getting through The 'Con. Then if anybody wanted to come up on Tuesday and just stay one night, they could.

So... what do you think? Anybody interested?

hmmmmm. Dont think i am ready to run the 'Con. In either my ability nor my Jeeps. Would hate to get out there and be "That Guy" on the trail. Think i will end up making a run to to my Brother in the AZ chapter, hit some light weight trails out there.

With 33ś (no Dana 35 unless 30 spline chromoly) a locker and a posi and a winch or a buddy with a winch you can run the Rubicon by taking the bypasses on the sluices and some of the other tough spots. Rockrails are a good plan... you WILL do rocker panel damage without them. It is a beautiful and challenging trip.

I will be runnin the Con on the 4th also, thats my Bday. I can't wait!

yeah buddy, i'll see ya there. I love the con when its a big party. We just have to do our part to keep it clean, keep it safe and keep the trail flowing at a decent speed. Look foward to seeing you there and wheeling with ya.
