What's up with the Goodyear MTR

I am in the market for new 33/12.50/r15 tires for my Jeep and I really wanted Goodyear MTR's but every place I have called says they are on back order and won't be available until the end of August!! Does this mean that they are changing up the MTR?

Discount Tires usually has access to MT/Rs when others are out of stock.

Goodyear produces the MTR in batches once a year, so when they run out then you have to wait. This is the information that tire rack and a different supplier told me when I was in the market for 35s.

We can't even get them through the Mopar tire program at the dealership either. Same thing backordered. We put the Duratrac on the AEV conversions we do.

I emailed Goodyear a few weeks back and they said there are 2900 backorders.

I got my 35" MTR's last year (August) and no one had any locally. They were on back order from Goodyear, but my local Dunn Tire store got 2 from a S. Carolina store, 2 from Tennessee, & 1 from out west. BFG's KM2's were even further out. Check out a local shop & see if they can't get them shipped in...

I just wish Goodyear would have continued making the new MTR 17" tire for a 15" wheel.
Most of my beadlocks are 15"

They are back ordered, and lots of people waiting. Just watch your local craigslist is my suggestion. I called everywhere and I mean everywhere looking for a set of 35/12.50/15's and then hopped on Craig's and in less than an hour found a set of 5 brand new ones for stupid cheap, just have to watch

Had to wait around 2 and a half months for my 37x17s, definitely worth it though.

A few months ago I found 35's on tire rack without issues. That was after waiting for about 4 months from 4wp who said they were back ordered nationwide

I waited a year on back order for a set purchased through 4wheel parts. Finally cancelled the order this last April. I am still waiting for Goodyear to make a production run.

I placed a order at 4wd.Com for 33x12.50x15 mtrs yesterday and saw this post this morning. So I called them up and they told me they're expecting a shipment on the 18th and I should have the by the end of next week.

I tried to find 35s mtrs about a month ago. Found 4 wheel parts had over 150 on back order. I called goodyear and they said they are still gonna be making them. But the next production run for mtrs was set
for dec 2015.....They did find a warehouse in oregon that had some. So good luck with your hunt!

I tried to buy some MTRs a couple of years ago and couldn't find any in the size I wanted. The same old story -- back ordered everywhere. So I went with something else. It makes me wonder how many sales Goodyear looses by having these tires constantly in short supply.

I believe your the first person I've seen ready to part with a set. Are you talking about the old style or the new MTR w/Kevlar? The old style left lots to be desired the but new ones flat out work.
