What's the longest w/out sleep?

A while ago I worked for a financial printer, if we had a big project running it was not unusual to be working straight through 30-40 hours, it sucked but the money was good.

Ft. Lewis used to do the 'how long can we push them before peformance is 'degraded' (they run off the road :P) 4 full days was our limit, 6 hours sleep, then convoy back to base from Yakima. After 72 hours, you start hallucinating, and your ability to process info is shot all to hell. But, they learned from it, so the first gulf war, they pushed for 100 hours and then stopped.
Long term sleep deprivation, is very hard on you. We've been on 62.5 hour work weeks since 9-11-01 with about 2 months of 'only' 50.5 hours a week. Longest I've gone is 26 days working the 12.5 hour shifts in a row..it's not a good thing at all. Your mental processes slow down, short and long term memory is affected and after a while, your immune system just folds up and you fall over. I'm pretty sure the mental processes were affected when I decided trading in the gf for a jeep was a good investment.... Then again, unlike the jeep, with the gf, when I take her to another guy to find out what's wrong with her, I usually don't get her back; at least with the jeep, I retain title ;)
