What's it worth?

I almost posted in non tech but I think the regional input is better.

I'm not really in the market for a new, full body XJ, but I am kind of considering making an offer on one that I know sits more than it moves anymore.

1989 XJ Wagoneer
4.0L/AW-4/242
217k miles
Engine replaced at some time in the past?

Exterior is pretty good.
No rust, of course. A couple minor door dings. All the chrome shines nicely.

Interior is thrashed. Broken seat bracket, no headliner, kind of used as a pickup. Maybe tired power windows and locks.

Unknown how it runs, assuming generally fine, pass smog with no issues or weird sounds.

Bone stock, never lifted or cut or beat up.

What's fair pricing like on something like that? Not an insult to the owner or a ripoff to me?

If I got it, it would probably be just to cruise around town, maybe snow trips, not a real wheeler.

600$-800$

I think I'd call him "Mr. Part-out" lol

Eric, it is a woody. With quad headlights.

I have been told the state will pay $1,000 to junk a running car older than 1994 so it seems like that would be the new minimum price.

Where do I take running vehicles in for $1000? Im going to start buying all the dirt cheap old cars that are wrecked on CL. lol

I don't think its a super easy process but when Craigslisters use that excuse I tell them to go right ahead and do it I cant do 1000$ on that POS.
