As for plans...I agree with ExTanker, Bridgeport would be the place for you to go if you come back to the area TOI. The "almost" stock XJ is wicked cool and capable. You might be surprised at what your driving skills and an almost stock XJ can do. Don't rely on the vehicle so much as your abilities bro. Give it a try there's always someone to pull you out (go ahead, ask me how I know!)

LOL!! That's in my driveway. Midian gave me all sorts of grief for my Porsche being a snowplow comments after that. The XJ stayed home all safe and sound while the P-Car braved the psycho-Texas drivers.

Yes, that's the one. It's not truly wrecked, the paint is just mangled on the bumper. My kid didn't take care of the leather in the heat this summer either, so the interior is in REALLY bad shape now (it was just in bad shape before 
). You can buy it for $3K if you like...LOL!!!!
I keep wanting to put the V8 outta the P-Car into the XJ.....DG poopoo's the idea every time I have it though cuz the tranny is a rear transaxle and that would make a bit of a prob mating a TC to it.

actually im pretty sure i could do some harder trails then a sunday drive in my jeep. but its pretty and i actually have rockers now.... and no protection, which i would like to find asap before i kill my jeeps pretty factor

Dude! When are you going? I was thinking mid June early July. Meet me in Texas or in Moab (since I'm going dirt) if you want and we can't cruise till we get to the west coast! Itd be fun! Then we can go down the coast and after that I'm takin 66 from L.A.

check my events on facebook theres an even i have set up for this cause i got bored. but the plan is go from Howe to colorado springs, then over to moab on the way to barstow CA. to play on the dunes and im going to look into moving there in the next year or so, then on our way back to Texas where going to stop at glamis to play in more sand. we havent figured out a certain date but it looks like late june to early july. i would like to spend the 4th in glamis i hear its pretty crazy

Use the P-car V-8. Make the XJ mid engine with the engine mounted transverse, and get custom shafts coming out of the transaxle to use as drivelines to your front and rear. No Xfer case needed. Full time 4wd!! Seen several buggies built this way using front wheel drive import engine/tranny combos.
