Mostly it was an inside joke. Spiedies are a marinated meat, the sauce being available only within 50 miles of my house in upstate NY. I have been known on several occasions to nearly burn down the desert cooking up a big batch of them from folks out there. Goat Fest, KOH, multiple times out in Panamint Valley. Good stuff, but logistics for me a mere 3000 miles away makes it a bit complicated.

While spiedies would be excellent they are very labor intensive for David. Add to that the logistic challenges and it just wasn't realistic for this event.

Yeah, sure... I'll just bring sushi & sashimi up with me on Thursday in my cooler, and feed it to everyone on Saturday night... That'd make Sunday the Aduket-A-Trail runs... :nono:.
