What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Threw in a new full gauge cluster tonight, still need to change the temp and oil senders. At least I have a working tach.

Painted the rear bumper, and plasti dipped below the body line and on the emblems like I did on my last one.

Also cleaned out the interior. still thinking I need to just get new carpet.

Got a year older this week.

Jumped in the jeep for the first time since the fourth to grab some breakfast with the boy and the clutch wouldn't disengage. Figured it was the internal slave and said some choice words the boy may have repeated.... Took the other care to breakfast came back to see what I could. No new fluid leaks, linkage looked good. Playing with it I tried to start it in 3rd with the clutch depressed and got a loud pop as the clutch disengage and now works fine.... maybe 3 weeks of rust on the fly wheel? At least the wife was the last to drive it so if it costs anything in the near future I can blame her....

Solid plan. I see no flaws there what so ever.

Refresh my memory: new baby yet?

Ordered yesterday, delivered to work today, installed tonight.

Just got the windshield replaced on my daily BMW, and then I get rear ended today

Damn car is cursed

I almost overheated driving home from work Thursday night. I smelled a slight scent of coolant in the air (doors off) and noticed that my temp gauge had crept to the first notch past 210. Within 30 or 40 yards, it shot up to just before the red. I immediately pulled over to the shoulder and killed it. There was fluid burping out of the overflow tank pretty steadily.

Luckily, I was only a few blocks from the house so I just walked home and came back a few hours later. I went ahead and poured in some fresh water then and limped it home no problem. I was out of town for the weekend so I didn't have a chance to work on it but my suspicion was a bad radiator cap so I went ahead and replaced that and it drove fine to work today.

Coolant was pretty dirty brown though. Indicative of any other problems? I don't know the last time I changed it. Probably do a flush this weekend and add some water wetter.

If it goes a little over 210 and shoots to the red and flashes the check gauges light, its not actually that hot. It does that as a warning to let you know you are starting to overheat.
