What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Well I got the new rubicon express front lower bump stops installed, as well as completion of the ox locker cable and shifter install. Just have to install the tnt frame stiffeners, transgo reprogramming shift kit, clock the transfercase flat and install an in cab roll bar. After many weekends of hard work the jeep should be ready for its first outing at Gilmer for Mega Run, March 1-3.

Sounds like a cake walk, :DLMAO, for you (Not so much for me, LOL). Good luck!!!

Well the vacuum system is design to keep a vacuum on the crankcase. If missing or fubared the RMS will leak a lot worse!!!

I think I might trim up my fenders a bit this week

My 87, 289,000 mile XJ Wagoneer beast, had an awesome day friday. Cold start at 32 F, ice on the windshield, and NO loud scary ticking knocking, piston slap, stuck lifter engine noise or what ever noises!!! Purred like a kitten!!!:D

Awesome it was!!!!!

Most recently I had added a quart of ZDDP Risolene additive (1 week ago), replaced #1 and #2 valve seals (4 weeks ago), straightened several rockers that were offset a little to the sides (4 weeks ago), new spark plugs, new plug wires, new cap and rotor (6 months ago) and regular oil changes at 3000 mile intervals. And ran the engine at 3800 rpm when ever a lifter stuck and made noise at start up. It now has more power than it ever had since I bought it 7 years ago.

800 miles on it since the valve seals and rockers work was done!!!

For once, mike is drama free with one of his xjs? Buy a lotto ticket. Lik

LOL, :laugh2: even the brakes work like brand new brakes :D

The heat could be a little warmer, but my back up coat seems to still work, LMAO!

Well I may have convinced myself that bench bleeding a MC before mounting (and bleeding the MC) is the only way to fly!!!!

Got the new MC installed on the white 89, 4wd I bought recently (last summer). Then bleed the front of the combo valve, and I seem to have avoided the need for further bleeding, bleeding, bleeding and more bleeding, LOL. The old MC was empty, leaked out the back side. I hope the brake booster is OK. Don't know yet.

Need to replace the battery and cables next to get engine vacuum to the brake booster for further testing. I have never seen battery cables as bad as these were, what a mess.:skull2:

Only other issues I know of are one bad (busted-rusted at the axle) top leaf on the rear leaf spring passenger side, no A/C clutch engagement (unknown A/C condition), and a funky left side seat support issue on the drivers seat. Is was a DD till the brake MC took a leak. Got the rig for $500 last summer/spring, finally have time to fix it.

Also lubricated the hood latch mechanisms, they wanted to stick BAD!!!!!

Installed my wizbangplus :D battery desulfator. It is installed and working on the 89 Cherokee XJ. I tried to start the jeep today before installing it, and the 15 month old battery had finally gotten so bad, even with a weekly maintenance start and run, to charge it for 10-20 minutes each week, that today it cranked so slowly (renix) it would not start.

It was still fully charged, but no doubt too sulfated (and too cold) to give me enough power. It barely turned over. I knew it was close to doing this the last 3 weeks, which is why I was shopping for one of these. It is a gold top Autozone battery, new 9/11, or 15 months old, and the jeep has been sitting since March 2012 (Body and suspension fender bender work, nearly done).

So the wizbankplus desulfator went in, let it run 30 minutes and then tested it and I got just enough crank speed to fire it up. :D NICE!! I am impressed!!! Will retest in a few days.

Luckly for me I have spare taillights.

looks like you might get a nice new heavy duty bumper.

i might fab one up this semester, but insurance isn't going to know about this. even though im not at fault,, i dont feel like paying another $200 plus a premium for a tail light on a jeep that most likely will be ruined after a few times on the trails. hell i still am paying for my only other accident, which i was also not at fault.

me and the guy that hit me came to a verbal agreement about the accident and its all good.

If he hit you, you won't pay a dime.
